Congrats on the new purchase. I agree with the only sales pitch my open water instructor gave us during our course, it went something like this. The only divers he has seen diving after open water have bought there gear, those that went the rental route rented a couple of times and they have not seen them again even after invites from the shop to go diving. In the past five years of diving I have seen this same pattern. It is so easy to go diving when you have all your own gear, all it takes is an early day out of work or a call from a buddy to go diving. Throw your gear into the car and go diving.
