What would be a reasonable price to have a contractor sand and put new coat of bottom paint on a 28' Boat with 9'6" beam?????
Anybody ever paid someone to do this for them?
Jim

Hi Jim! My husband is a yacht and boat surveyor. He said locally where we live, if they do a quick sand and put a coat of paint on the bottom it runs around $900.00. If they have to strip the gel coat and paint off, it's a lot more extensive. So I guess it depends on how much work is involved. You can email him through his website, http://www.socalsurveys.com. It might depend on the area as well. Some shipyards are cheaper than others.

Good luck!
