Let me be the first to contragulate. For my fellow St. Louisans, (I'm from Atlanta) let me say repeat that about 13 more times and you'll know what it is like to be a Braves fan.

Boy you were quick on posting that one. Did you even let the ball get to the first basemans mitt? ;)

I would like to add my congrats to Boston... but couldn't they have let the Cards win ONE game :06: ?? I am so bummed that baseball is over!

Yay red sox! i had to pick a sport & team for when i move to america, and now ive picked this one! (i had to pick a winning team you see) theyre so cute in their outfits! my fiance always has gone for them (he was born in CT) and his grandad who had always gone for them, died without seeing them win this! I bet he's celebrating now!

I am soooooooooooo happy for Boston!
Congrats!!

I think only my poor Cubs have a longer record of not winning a World Series.
Maybe the curse will be broken for us too..someday. :winky:

From cursed to first.....WAY TO GO, BOSOX!!!!

WOO HOO!! Go Sox!! I can't think of a team that is more deserving. (Just a statement, not a fact... I don't say it to be mean to any other teams!) Even more awesome that they could do it with a sweep... I would imagine that there are some HUGE parties in good ole' Boston tonight!!!

(And, I just can't post about baseball without mentioning my team... Yanks will make it back next year! I know, I know... I just had to do it, I couldn't help myself!! :eyebrow: )

THE EVIL EMPIRE IS VANQUISHED

Next April, when the Boston Red Sox open the first game of the 2005 season, they will raise a red pennant outside of Fenway Park. It will bear the number "2004" and will be hung next to the last red pennant the Sox earned. The one that reads 1918.

Who will have the pleasure of seeing the BoSox celebrate in front of tens of thousands of rabid Bostonians as that flag in unvieled?

Good old Joe Torre and his boys in pinstripes. May they have the curse cast upon them as many times as there were inches in the Bambino's waist.

2005 may truely be a banner year for the Yanks, as thier slide into obscurity is capped off by Barry Bonds hitting his 715th home run. The curse of the Bambino is no more.

Let me be the first New Englander to say I'm extremely happy (and tired) for the Sox this morning!

For the Cub fans out there, we know your pain! If the Babe can leave the stadium, maybe the goat can too.
