Rafael and I (w/three other divers) did a two dive charter on Boston Harbor Diving Company's new boat. Captain's Jim & Pat run an excellent operation($70 a head) on a spacious, clean and stable boat. Did some scalloping in the outer harbor with better results on the second dive. Viz was horrible <5 feet, but we managed not to get lost u/w. Fed the seagulls(shucked the scallops) on the way back in.

First impression was excellent. If you're planning on diving in Boston Harbor, this is the outfit to charter with. Boat is clean and big, the price is reasonable and the captains are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Marina is a quick boat ride to all the sites w/ plenty of parking. Two big thumbs up all the way and I'm already planning on next trip(wreck off Nahant) with Jim and Pat.

This was another A+ for Jim and Pat, thank you guys it was fun as always.

Jimmy, nice diving with you again, we have to do it again before the season is over.

Jim and Pat deffinatly do a good job. I just finished my AOW with them, did my OW last fall also with Jim. I hope to get back out on the boat in a few weeks. I'd like to do the Romance, which I've heard good things about (from Pat).

Matt Silvia and I dove the Romance last year and it was a good dive. Found a couple of old clay pipes. I was talking about diving it again this year, but Pat said the viz was terrible each time they've tried it this season.

The only negative about yesterday's trip was I lost my nice catch bag on the first dive. I had it clipped on to a D ring with a carabineer(sp?) and it broke during the first dive and the bag went to the bottom of the Hahbah. Oh well, time for a new one. Lobster gauge went w/ it. No more crap-abineers either....I'll use a brass clip it on.

LobstaMan:
I'll use a brass clip it on.
Go with a stainless steel clip instead. Brass gets sharp edges on the thumb slider as it wears, and will eventually start cutting up your gloves.

If you prefer brass, I'll give you a couple of clips I don't use anymore for free.

As long as it's not a stainless steel crap-abineer. Any suggestions on catch bags and gauges? I liked the bag I had, the sping-loaded one hand type, but they're expensive. I did not like the gauge--too straight and not erognomically designed.

Rafa, where did you buy your gauge? I liked it better than the one I lost. More of a rounded edge to it.

Let me ask Bob, it was a present from him.
