Gee, I never gave it a thought. My instructor put his boots on after the wetsuit so they had to go outside. Everyone else did too. After that I never even thought about it, until this morning reading this while waiting for an airplane that is, at this point, 2 hours late.

With no leg zipper on my wetsuit there is no way I could ever get the booties inside. So...

Could be that I misunderstood you, but how do you put on your wetsuit in the first place if you have no leg zipper? :D

Roll the legs outwards at the end, you have to do so anyway to put it on, and then just roll them over the booties. No zipper involved and booties in. Magic, eh? :)

I can't seem to get my shorty to tuck into my boots!?

My 7mm wetsuit doesn't have zippers on the legs either. I find if I put the wetsuit on the inside of my boots (which have zippers) my legs stay warmer. When I put the wetsuit on the outside of the suit, the boot zipper creates a gap that allows water past the lower leg seal.

As far as pissing in your wetsuit and having it get in your boots, I think the basic problem is some people just don't drink enough beer. If you drink a lot of beer when you're not diving you'll enlarge your bladder, reducing your need to relieve yourself in your wetsuit.

How does a back zipper sound?

Nope don't do that. Slide human legs down the wetsuit legs. Tug, tug at the other end. I don't have stovepipes for legs so the roll thingy doesn't work.

Guess I'll just have to continue to be a _ . . _ _ _ . .. _ . _

on the inside, keeps the zipper from coming loose

Have you tried it both ways? I think if you do, the answer will become self-evident. (I have a hard enough time getting my 7-mil wetsuit over my bare heel, much less trying to yank it over a thick bootie!)

Darlin', you're doing it wrong. Put on your wet suit, then put on your boots, then tuck your boots under the wet suit. I did try putting my boots over my wet suit - once. Once was enough for me to never go back to it.

Walter: Nothing elitist about that.

I know, but there's never anything elitist about the posts when you throw the insult around either.

Wow this devolved quickly... Roll up those wetsuit bottoms, and pull them over the bootie tops. I would say it is not the pee to worry about other than having a whole lot of water dragging you down/back/etc.

Booties almost always on the inside. Exceptions exist (eg a dive skin with foot stirrups.. not gonna happen with booties inside), but it certainly is NOT the norm to have them on the outside. One of my students once asked me.. I had them jump in the water without gear and the booties on the outside... they came back to shore laughing, saying... "Got it".

but a 7mm just won't go well with a bootie on the outside.

by the way, I find putting on your gloves before any other gear works best... KIDDING.. YES, REALLY... KIDDING!!!:rofl3:

And a dive skin can (and should) be worn over the booties as well.
