I'm looking for a cheap, preferably used, scuba tank powered booster. The max I want to spend on one is $600 as I have found several on Ebay but would feel more comfortable if it came from someone who dives then a machine shop where it is probably contaminated with who knows what.

I hate to rain on your parade, but $600 will probably not get you much in the line of a booster. Please be careful and make sure that it is suitable for breathing gasses. If it is not in operational condition, it can be quite costly to have repaired (cheaper if you can do it yourself).

Yeah, if you find a breathing quality booster for 600 bucks, it's probably busted (never to work again). :)

Used ones are still in the 2000+ dollar range.
