Book Recommendations for the Bay Islands

I am leading a group trip to Roatan on 3/22/08. Before I go on a trip I love to read a few related books. I was hoping for recommendations.

Anything goes: fiction or non-fiction. Bonus points for local authors, pirates, and rants on local politics.

The Judas Bird is a long rambling novel of dubious literary value, but... it is a fairly true and accurate depiction of the felonious acts of a well known land pirate.

There are a few small locally published books that may be useful, We Speak (I believe) is one of the names. Probably out of print.

The Mosquito Coast by Paul Theroux. An Evening Among Headhunters and Other Reports From Roads Less Traveled by Paul Milman mentions a lot of people that are still alive and well.

The Ship and the Storm tells about a lost 300' sailing vessel during Hurican Mitch in 1998.
