Watching 'Never say never again' on the box last night made me wonder whether anyone knows of the instructor & agency which certified Bond (being with HMSS it should have been BSAC)?

Lots of (funny) diving scenarios including underwater fights, shark chases and unique hand signals (index finger moving vertically up and down to indicate 'lets go up').

The BSAC is a civilian organization.

Since 007 works for HMSS, was recruted from and holds the rank of Lieutenant (pronounced Left Tenant) Commander in the Royal Navy , his training would have been in the Royal Navy not a civilian agency like th BSAC.

I'm afflicted by the same infirmity, Mike. Instead of apologizing (and its nothing to apologize for) , you could edit your messages and correct your mistakes.

I'll make it easy for you to cut and paste the proper spellings.

You are correct on Bond's training, which is the main point.

I was refering to Sean Connery who plays 007. Surely as an actor he must have obtained a basic OW course somewhere?

Anyone out there know?

I checked out the Big John link and in an interview...John stated that Brook Sheilds was the only star he trained that showed interest in getting certified besides Lloyd Bridges.

"I taught Connery how to dive for one Bond and then had to teach him again at the beginning of every other film."
