Bonaire Vis

I was wondering if anybody has recently returned from Bonaire and if
so how is the vis? I will be there in 7 days w/ my kids and have heard
that this year the vis is the worst in about 10 years.
any current info on vis and or water temp would be greatly appreciated!

I talked to someone who just returned and they said it was not too good, especially on 'the wild side'. When I was there in June it was fine. It was very windy, but the vis was ok. The person I talked to said the currents were much stronger than usual.

Man I hope I didn't make a mistake!! Bad vis and strong currents thats like the anti-bonaire!

I think you should relax. I just got off the phone with a friend who lives on the island and dives regularly. Temps have been around 81-83F. Vis has improved over the last couple of weeks (60-80F). The wind is dying off and it is getting HOT. I'm not sure what you are used to, but the vis never disapoints me on Bonaire I was there the first 2 weeks in July, and it wasn't the best I've seen there...but it IS Bonaire Still lots of cool stuff to see.

I never was any good at that meditating thing Cynde! I'm sure I'll be fine once I splash though. I have to focus on the cool things and easy diving. I just didn't want to travel 1/2 way around the world to get the kind of vis I coulda got with a 1-1/2 hr flight down to the key's.

PS aren't you a mod on one of the other boards Cynde???

OK, we can skip the meditating ;-) With the winds dying down, vis will certainly pick up even more

And yes, I am a mod on one of the "other" boards ;-) It's nice to play in another sandbox and not have "responsibilities"
