Bonaire trip report - Short

Just back after almost an entire day underwater (23.7 Hours).
From my limited personal experience this is how I vote.

Recommended:
Buddy Dive dive operation.
the fish Pizza at the pizza joint on the main road (just after turn about) and at captain Dons.
fish sandwiches at Buddy dives beach bar.
BBQ fish at Buddy Dive.
tapas at the tapas restaurant. (bacon goat cheese A++)
Polar beer
Karpata
Red Slaves
Something special.
kid week at buddy dive if you have kids.

not recommended:
the camera doctor at Buddy dive.
It rains fishes, fish sandwich.
Kid week at Buddy dive (if you do not have kids).

Ha ha - so how many kids were running around Buddy during kids week? I too like the Buddy Op - suit up, fall off dock, dive... I will remember not to schedule trip during kids week. But could go for a cold Polar, Capt Don's pizza and watching the tarpon in the water below right about now!

I agree with just about everything you said

Pasa Bon Pizza is really good
I love Polar beer, Amstel Bright was tasteless
Buddy Dive runs a great operation but the Camera Doctor seemed a bit obnoxious when we were there.
Something Special really is
Karpata is an excellent dive site
It Rains Fishes was disappointing
Next time try Unbelievable for dinner and a night dive at Buddy's house reef.

It that John you're talking about? If so, can I ask why you do not recommend him?

I think I should not have posted that, he seems a nice enough fellow, he has a feature called "Camera Doctor" that he looks at some of your pictures and then resets your camera settings, admittedly it was only a sealife 600, but the pictures after the resetting that cost about 15$ for 5 minutes of work were much worse than I was already taking. no big deal I learned something about the settings, but it was almost a wasted 15$ except now I know what not to do.

Jon did state that he has people sometimes say that on the night he show the pictures he took, but that people see photography different ways, on this I agree. I could look at the pictures you think are better and think they are wosre, trust me happens all the time.
