Hi everyone...I thought I'd post my Bonaire trip report.

You can see all the pics on my web site as well as get more info.
You can ge there by clicking:www.damirs.com then go to the travel section.

The Bonaire trek consisted of 15 dives over 5 days of diving.Food was mediocre at the Resort although across the street was a restaurant that was walking distance that served great food at reasonable prices. Lodging was at the Plaza Resort and the rooms were large although there were bugs. This was a little disheartening, but you figure you're on an island. We used Toucan Dive Shop through the resort for diving each day.

Would I use it again? Most likely if I was with a non-diver.

We didn't experience the crime some have said concerning leaving things in your vehicle, but we did dive remotely from any populated areas. I did leave shirts and towels to dry off between dives outside the vehicle and they were there when I returned.

Great for macro life viewing however not many bigger animals to talk about except for the 5 1/2 ft. tarpon on the night dive once we turned off our lights and relaxed at 40 ft. It was a full moon and you could see very well. Saw some octopus and lots of eels.

The shore sites were numerous and we were able to park the truck we rented about 6 feet from the water on numerous dives which made things quite a bit easier in lugging gear.

Washington Slagbai state Park.

Don't waste your time...we stopped on the best part of the dirt road to take some pics. The waves were rough and the diving wasn't that great. It took trekking 15 miles of bad road to get to the dive site. we both actually got car sick from the rough terrain and had to take a break.

Here's a pic to give you a taste:

Glad you enjoyed yourself! You're right that the roads are a bit rough in the Park, but that's just the fun of it :) . Most people don't go into the Park to dive but just to enjoy the scenery. Visibility underwater suffers from the strong current on that side of the island, too.

we never made it out to the park when I went - - - guess we didnt miss much!

nice seahorse!

We've been to the WS park a few times. Like Shark said, t's NOT really a dive place, but someplace to see some of the natural flora & fauna of the island.

The flamgingoes are awesome; the lizards so colourful they look like they are jewelled.

Neat place :thumb:

Next time we go to Bonaire I'm going to go on the mangrove (snorkelling) tour.
