Anyone know if there was damage to the docks at Belmar? Thanks in advance.

We do not get back to Bonaire until February.Well the water is starting to settle down.. I went for a dive off windsock.. Reef is fine but covered in sand.. it'll take sometime before it's all cleaned up.. Visibility has zero 15-20 feet from shore and at 50 feet maybe 20'-25' at 50+ depth

Back in the hammock with a new rum and coke....
Pickup yur phone, call them?I just heard a rumor that Captain Don's was closed. Any news? Their web site states their celebrating 40 years. I hope the latter is true. I remember my first visit to Bonaire in 1981 staying at the Habitat & meeting the Legend.

Probably not since they just dropped a ton of money upgrading their nitrox system about 4 days agoI just heard a rumor that Captain Don's was closed. Any news? I've never seen a dive shop trip anywhere that I couldn't duplicate for several hundred dollars less. But some people like the ease of booking through others.Check when you arrive next door at Buddy's on the 22nd. Btw, your trip is brutally expensive.....

Yep. I don't mind a shop making money at all, I'm a business owner so I understand. But I don't have cash to sling around. So, I have to be cheap. I can get to, and dive for a week in bonaire, for $1200 plus food(I don't cheap out quite that much, but I could). I can't pay the 2k to 2500 shops want.Yep! We are not a dive shop but do trips to Habitat for a bunch of dollars less. Next July, $770. a week for 12 boat dives, unlimited shore diving, nitrox on the boats, all taxes and fees, rooms are 2 br--2ba bungalows for 4 people with full kitchen. Last year about 40 people took advantage of this deal, even if you add the breakfast buffet and a truck--it's STILL $500. less! Sooo, the dive shop is making $500./ diver PLUS any commission and free spots for the dive shop.......
Good idea, but it was Sunday. I thought the coconut telegraph thru Scubaboard would be quicker.Pickup yur phone, call them?
