Have fun! I prefer the "Lion's Dive" side.

Why? On our last trip, the sewer gas leaking from the toilet would make you gag, the furniture was shabby, and the chairs on the patio would collapse when you sat in them. Lets not talk about broken appliances, rotting wood, peeling paint and leaking plumbing. What could be better? A room for the same cost without those problems? I will guarantee you that 90% of all the negative comments about Buddy's rooms will be from the Loin's Dive side of the resort! If you prefer that side, you are either very lucky or a complete idiot.

I didn't experience any of what you complained about. My room was well maintained.

I find the Lion's Dive side more quiet with less foot traffic and I liked that the pool was very close to my room. Just my small preference but really I couldn't care either way.

All that side, I prefer Den Laman more now. Nicer rooms than either side at Buddy for much less. Again, just my personal opinion. Maybe you were really unlucky? But, I am an idiot.;)

I just returned from my first trip to Bonaire. We set up the trip through our LDS and were told Den Laman and Buddy's were the two best choices. We went to DL and were very happy. While we were there, we went to Buddy's to look around. The DL dock is much bigger, the shop looks bigger. Buddy's does have the drive thru but you can pull right up to the door at DL. I guess to be technically correct, the dive operation is actually called Bonaire Dive Adventures. Other than the lockers that you really only need if you plan on needing tanks after hours, we were very pleased with everything. The lockers need help but again they are only necessary after hours.

No, you are not an idiot, you were lucky and we were unlucky. It is my understanding that the remodeled rooms are the ones closer to the dive shop. Our room was right next to the parking lot by the old office.
