Sandy and I will be in Bonaire Sept 3-10th. We are looking for any experienced divers who want to dive the East side with us between the 4th-9th?

We dive with Larry: http://www.infobonaire.com/larrys/

We could just book and probably end up going to the same two sites he has taken us before, but this time around we want something different. If we could get atleast 6 people, maybe more hopefully we could persuade LArry into taking us farther along the East side.

So if you're gonna be on the island during this time, let me know and maybe we can get something together for one of those days.

What's the diving on the East side like compared to the other dive sites? I've spent a good amount of time diving on Bonaire this year and wanted to dive with Larry's Wildside diving.

Hi Doc,

The diving on the East is rougher wave/surge wise. Boat diving is the only real option as far as I see, although some people do shore dives from time to time.

There is a greater chance to see pelagics on that side, eagle rays, sharks, tarpon, etc.... Alot of people get concerned about whether or not they can handle the Wild Side as it's sometimes called...I've heard some stories of people getting sick, but I've done a whopping 6 dives on that side and really dont think its Wild at all.

Any person with boat diving experience in California, North Carolina, or even Lake Michigan can handle it. I did a boat dive on Lake Michigan that was much worse than the Wild Side....than again, I may have been getting lucky! :)

Doc,

Larry is by far the most well known op who dives the EAst side almost everyday. He had a boat especially made for this kind of diving...its very cool.

Check out this thread I started on Bonairetalk....a local named Menno is going to be starting up some diving on that side it looks like....starting in October it seems.

Great! I'll definitely be doing my dives with him. I'll be on the Freewinds (Scientology) Cruise ship. Classes by night and diving by day!!!

If you are interested in shore diving the East side, Contact Bas. He is great and very experienced. I think you can contact him thru Wannadive Divers or Photo Tour Divers.

I also see him once in a while on the island so let me know if anyone is interested.
