We haven't been to Bonaire in more than ten years. Has anyone stayed at the Sand Dollar recently? We liked it very much before.

I was there in May. Not a bad place to stay. Clean, easy dive on site, food & grocery close by. I'd go back.

Just stayed there for a week in early July. We were in the furthest north condo (Buddy Dive directly across the fence from us). Can't speak for the convenience of other Sand Dollar condos, but F21 was ideal. Set up for divers, by divers. A few yards to an entrance to the north end of Bari Reef (or south end of Buddy Reef). Convenient location. On-site dive operation (Dive Friends) suited our needs in every way. On-site restaurant (Eddy's) was good for a few meals - we found it to be better than the bar at Buddy's. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. We had 6 in our group, so the 3 BR condo was ideal. They do rent it out as a 2 BR condo as well. All good - no complaints at all. As a frame of reference, I've been to Bonaire 3 times in the past - Hotel Bonaire (dates me, I know - 1981), Bonaire Oceanfront Apts (near downtown - 2009), and Buddy Dive (2012). This was my best overall experience in Bonaire.

We've stayed at the Sand Dollar twice, January 2013 and June 2014. Would highly recommend it. The location is nice, plenty of restaurants nearby, Dive Friends dive shop right on site, and Bari Reef offers some amazing diving/snorkeling right out front. We rented studio A4 and 1BR condo A1. Loved A4, nice screened porch and updated bathroom. Owners were fabulous to deal with. A1 is a great location because it is closest to the water and dive shop. The best feature is the huge screened porch that gives easy access to your gear and to store it. The rest of the condo could use a facelift and the owner just wasn't as personal as we were used to based on the countless other properties that we have rented through VRBO, Homeaway, etc.

It depends on the Condo you get of course.

The main good thing about the Sand Dollar is... you can shop for air from BDA, the onsite Op (i forget the name), or Buddy's next door.

I think when we just priced it Buddy was cheaper than BDA for air.

Also, you can walk to "Between 2 Buns" each day for lunch which rocks.
