I was there the full last week of October, and yes bleaching was bad (it was in Curacao as well). It seemed as if the SCTLD was hitting the brain/maze corals pretty bad. Reef life was the same for me there, we didn't have a lot of wind that week so it opened up the far south sites such as Red Slave for the entire week.....lots of life there and it hadn't been hit with much SCTLD at all.

We stayed at Bellafonte and for that week I never did a dive site north of The Lake.
 
That could be a reason for our experience. Salt Pier was the furthest South we went. Thanks.
The sites north of Oil Slick were also pretty good.
