That's one of the reasons for my cruising--I'm checking out places that I want to return to for longer stays. We're already planning on going to Costa Maya this year for a couple weeks. It's still unspoiled and a great place to dive.

I received a rather disappointing response from Wannadive, so I've contacted BDA and am hoping for better.

Edit: Just got a much better response from Wannadive, and BDA is fully booked so we'll be going to Wannadive.

I agree. With only one day, my strategy would be to head to Buddy Dive or Captain Don's, do a few shore dives and hang out at the pool or restaurant between or after dives. The house reefs are very good at both places. Both have good dive shops and easy access to the water with steps, fresh water showers etc.

Follow Herman's advice and do the windsock location and not the Eden Beach location (if you use Wannadive).

Which would be better, Windsock or Captain Don's? When Wannadive first contact me, they said we could go to Eden, but I had asked for Windsock Resort in my initial inquiry. It made me wonder if we couldn't go there perhaps.

I would put them in this order. Windsock, Capt Don then Eden beach. Funny thing is Capt Dons is maybe 3 US city blocks north of EB. I have no clue why but there is a huge different between them. If I had to do EB what I would do is walk up a few hundred feet from EB, enter beside Den Laman and go north from there. The current, it's usually mild, typically runs north to south.
