Headed to Bonaire in June, part of the Invasion. I was wondering from others what are considered the must do dives.

I have been there before, but only made a couple shore dives; Hilma Hooker and Plaza house reef. I usually just do the boat dives, but do want to do some shore dives.

Thanks

I count over 20 "must-do" dives listed so far in this thread. This reinforces what I have said many times before: There is such an abundance of nearly equally great sites and so few (if any) poor sites that arriving with a list of sites to diligently check off can be an exercise in frustration. Also, to me, trying to check off sites one by one feels contrary to the freewheeling nature of Bonaire diving, where you can go anywhere you want whenever you want. We often pick our next site while we're doing our surface interval at the previous one. You could throw darts at a map to pick your sites, and after a week you will have dived most of the ones that you see people mentioning again and again. As I see it, in Bonaire there are either NO "must-do" dives or they are ALL "must-do" dives.

Kinda depends on your certification level and experience. They have great shallow reefs on the west coast. Some great diving on the east coast, but rougher currents/waves. Lots of larger marine life. I ran into a cloud of Tarpon each 5 or 6 feet in length; beautiful. The Mari Bahn (the Windjammer) wreck is worthwhile, but it's deteriorated a lot over the years. Have fun and be safe. :)

Yeah, the wild side of the island is apparently a whole 'nuther thing. I wouldn't know.
