May 2020 pushed out to May 2021 and finally we made it 2022!! The United flight from/to Newark was half empty which concerns me if it stays that way... When I completed all of the documentation the day prior to the flight it left the health dec in pending status. A long wait call to United returned the claim that it was a glitch in the system. Of course the real answer is that they need to physically check the form at the airport. It was fine, at the kiosk it alerts a representative who quickly checked it and unlocked the system so I could print our boarding passes.
As usual we rented from AB and the transfer to their office was quick and we headed to The Plaza to check in. The Plaza looks great! The new pool and pool bar are really beautiful. There is a massive new structure being built on the north side. I is going to be a new casino and main building with conference rooms and some shops. Unfortunately this blocks off the little lot that non Plaza folks could use to access the shore dive there!
The food was really quite good this year. In addition to the usual buffet they always had a "live" cooking option. Most nights it was a fish dish.
We did 2 morning boat dives and did afternoon shore dives. We did only southern shore sites - Corporal Meiss, Pink Beach, Tori's, Vista Blue... We ran into a wall of fish on one site which was just amazing. I pointed to it and my buddy was like what? She finally looked closer to realize it was a wall of moving fish  Returning to shore at Tori's in about 8 feet of water I keep looking both ways for rays which like the sandy area. And up pops a spotted eagle ray! We hung out there for another 5 or so minutes watching it fly back and forth! Otherwise it was the usual suspects.
Was fantastic to get back to the island and meet up with old friends. Plans for May 2023 are in the works.

Glad you had a good time, especially after so long. How many dives for the week?

Oh, and since you did a mix of boat and shore divings, which sites did you hit by boat?

Only 17 dives for the week... Unless we miraculously get the energy to start working out, our days of 4-5 dives/day are over  I should have snuck in a few more dives on the house reef. It's really quite nice. My organized buddy/wife logged all the dives. So the boat dives:
Klein - Joanne's Sunchi
Klein - Knife (love the capt don stories for the site names  )
Invisibles
Salt pier "drift" to Jeannie's Glory
Small Wall
Klein - Bonaventure
Kallie's Reef
Something Special
Klein - Mi Dushi
Cliff
Klein - South Bay
Klein - Ebo's

Oh, forgot one important detail. Buddies inflator stuck and was inflating. We took it to Bruce Bowkers shop. Of course Bruce passed away almost 2 years to the day. I am very happy to report that the shop is still as amazing as when Bruce was there! Walked in, they took the bc and had swapped out the schrader valve before I could even do any shopping around! Amazingly well stocked shop. Charge - $10. We did buy the bc there, but still!!!
