I heard a story of two young high school friends. One inherited a large sum of money just before graduation. After graduation the two parted ways as the one without the inheritance had to go to work for a living. A number of years later the two friends paths crossed and the one that had to go to work as doing okay. He wasn't rich but neither was he poor. The one that had gotten the inheritance was wearing rags and looked wore out. The worker friend asked what had happen to him. He replied that he had spent 95% of the money on gambling, wine, loose women, and having fun. The worker friend inquired "but your inheritance was so large even the 5% would have you in better shape than you are now." To which his friend replied "the other 5%. Heck, I just wasted that."
In the spirit of this story I have received my tax refund and wisely used most of it to complete my payment for the Invasion, the rest I wasted by putting it in my IRA.
Now I just need a dive buddy or two and a truck load of apri dive buddies.
As a dive buddy my positives are: 100+ dives, 35 in salt water, own a O2 and CO analyzer, dive with a camera (but am more of the point and shoot amateur than a serious amateur), don't have trouble clearing ears, believes in dive planning and buddy checks, I don't wear a speedo, and I am a overall safe buddy.
As a apri dive buddy my positives are: I've been known to have a Bud Lite Lime but seldom get snockered. I love to dance which is weird for a guy with two left feet. I don't mind a good joke at my expense. I hear there is a casino in Bonaire so you will have someone to keep you company on the Blackjack table. At 48 I don't tend to get into serious trouble anymore but I carry bail money just in case. Lastly, regardless of the Bud Lite Lime intake I will not wear a speedo.
If there are any takers let me know.
