Ok gang....
I know things are tough in the States, but if you need to put money somewhere, then Bonaire is the place to put it especially in real estate!!!! With the changeover in government prices are forecasted to go up (they have the last 3 years, and are forecasted to increase 10% this year). Also THERE IS A HUGE SHORTAGE OF LONG TERM RENTALS ON THE ISLAND AND THE RENTS HAVE REALLY GONE UP...
NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY ON BONAIRE!!!!!
We have a 3 bedroom/1 bath and 2 bedroom/2 bath side by side duplex. We have just completely renovated the living room, bedrooms, kitchen on the 3 bedroom side and we completely renovated EVERYTHING on the 2 bedroom side. The bathroom does need remodeling on the 3 bedroom side, but for the price we are asking, not a big deal!!! It also has a large semi open porch in the back yard for the 3 bedroom side. It has its own cistern for watering the garden.
Each Apartment has its own less than 2 year old septics (closed system) and their own utility meters. Each has lots of storage capability. There are large storage lockers (actually really nice wooden ones) on the back porch, great for gear storage!
You can rent out the 3 bedroom when your not here on a short term basis, then have the 2 bedroom/2bath side rent for about $1,000 a month long term, and they have to pay their own utilities.
It is located on 1,035 sq. mtrs of "leased land" (there is no such thing as emminant domain, this was put in place over 150 years ago so the locals could afford to buy land from the government. The taxes are very low at just over $200.00 per year. The lease tax is under $100 a year.

For those familiar it is located on the Road to Rincon..if you head west at the circle by North of town where they are building the new Divi All Inclusive, you go about 1 mile, over a very small bridge, take a left on the road to Rincon and then it is the 3rd house on the left.
ASKING PRICE IS $199,000 (a little negotiable) A lot of people have asked us, if it is so good why are we selling....well, real estate in the States in "ripe" for buying, so Ed and I have decided to find a vacation condo in FL!!!!
