fisheater has a point about the BBQ nights.

Buddydive has one on friday nights (that is around 15 - 20$) US.
It's good. Get there a little early for happy hour.

If I am not mistaken the Plaza also has a BBQ night on Tuesdays - the same sort of deal.

I would do them all but my wife would nay nay nay that.............

I am sure that other posters can relate to their favorites

Buddy's was excellent------------except they DON'T know how to cook a cochon de lait(roast pig)---that meat was terrible, the rest of the meat they served that nite was great...

EDIT...thinking the price on the outside board was like ?21 USD---but all our meals were prepaid so I didn't pay great attention to the cost......

I go to Bonaire to dive. If I wanted BBQ, I'd just stay in Texas.

Yea,... but-------a fellas got to eat, might as well be good eats.....(btw, I had no idea about the BBQ @ Buddy's---till it came up on the board that day)

I agree with diver85. One goes to Bonaire to dive; but once there, might as well choose the best food possible. I tend to like Bobbejans. Does not compare to real BBQ but good ambiance, prices and service. Have not been impressed with the BBQ at Buddy Dive. The one time we went, everything tasted of starter fluid.

I'm a Bobbejan fan. The ribs and chicken are pretty darn good - eat it there. We went to Buddys later in the evening on Friday and the BBQ was all steamtable fare by the time we go there, and dried out and chewy. It was below average. Maybe if we had gotten there earlier it would have been different. The whole roast pig was OK. Have heard from Bonairians that RibFactory is good, but DiveFriends folks recommended Bobbejans - as much for local flava, I think.

Here's one a bit off the beaten path. Find the big new Van den Tweel supermarket and from its front door look straight across the street to a small "snack" with a big Colombian flag in front. Go over and ask Isobel when Sergio will be doing his Argentine BBQ again. He was a chef in an Argentine restaurant in Amsterdam and really puts on a show cooking, playing Argentine Jazz and drinking Malbec. I think it was about $15 for a huge spread, chimichurri on everything. I think if you had a small group he'd do something for you on request.....good luck!
