We have stayed at Coral Paradise the last two trips, and will stay there on our next trip.

I went to Trip Advisor for Bonaire and chose from there. Ended up with Villa Safir.

So... How was it?

We have stayed at Coral Paradise the last two trips, and will stay there on our next trip.

Because why? Hint: The OP is looking for advice and experience upon which to make a comparative decision.

We did Bamboo Bali Bonaire this Christmas. Its a really nice place, quiet, perfect for a couple. Their package are through wanna dive which is ok, 24h nitrox access and they don't mind if you want to pickup multiple tanks.

It's our only choice if we go back.

Going to Bonaire for the first time at the end of Sept. Looking for advice on where to stay. Does not have to be the Ritz but would prefer that it is not a "fish camp" either. It will just be my husband and myself. Looking any advice.

You'll get recommendations for everyone's favorites here. Hard to go wrong with any of them. My buddy and I stayed at Plaza Resort a few years ago and liked it. We had a newly (at the time) refurbished room over by the dive shop, which was perfectly fine in every way.

getting into this a little late but thought you should hear our experience.
we have stayed at captain don's twice, the first time for one week, the following year for two. both times we stayed in the bungalows with a group from a local dive shop. obviously we enjoyed ourselves the first time enough to go back a second, even coming home and writing raving reviews on trip advisor (I have since removed). our second trip was enjoyable till the last evening, most of our group had flown out on delta on Saturday, we opted to fly out sunday leaving our bungalow and one other the only two occupied. we were robbed while we slept, which still sends chills through me to say, they got 2 cameras, underwater housing for one, a dive computer, a regulator, and lots of other odds and ends. they came through a window. we had an early flight so we had to get to the airport very shortly after the discovery. we were provided, several weeks later, with a police report to file with our insurance. no one at captain don's ever contacted us to see that we were ok. at one point I had to call regarding the status of the report and talked to Jack Chalk, whom we knew pretty well by this point, he apologized but never offered a discount or anything for future visits. just BE CAREFUL if you stay there! since this we have heard a similar story from many others. on a positive note, the diving is excellent, we enjoyed the restaurant and bar and staff but, for obvious reasons, we will not be staying there again.

Wow, that sounds like the perp timed it perfect. Inside job?
