Just spent six weeks in Bonaire, 148 dives. The large brain corals are basically all dead due to SCTLD. The waters have cooled quite a bit and the bleaching is reversing in many cases. Some sites were worse than others, some much worse. Overall I found the bleaching was not so bad especially compared to the SCTLD.How were the corals? I went to Curacao in December and was shocked at all the bleaching. Most of all the hard corals were white.
A group of 6 of us dove the Windjammer Dec 14, 2024 and it was great. Almost no current, great visibility. Did a swim through. There were loads and loads of lionfish presumably because no one harvests them down at 190'. We were on CCR and had about 1 hour of deco. We dove it with Area9 off their awesome zodiac.Do people dive the "Windjammer" anymore?
