How were the corals? I went to Curacao in December and was shocked at all the bleaching. Most of all the hard corals were white.

Just spent six weeks in Bonaire, 148 dives. The large brain corals are basically all dead due to SCTLD. The waters have cooled quite a bit and the bleaching is reversing in many cases. Some sites were worse than others, some much worse. Overall I found the bleaching was not so bad especially compared to the SCTLD.

Feb 2023 I saw alot of SCTLD on Bonaire but did not see it that much in Feb 2024. I saw very little bleaching on Bonaire in Feb 2024.

Sorry....meant to say Feb 2024 and Feb 2025
A group of 6 of us dove the Windjammer Dec 14, 2024 and it was great. Almost no current, great visibility. Did a swim through. There were loads and loads of lionfish presumably because no one harvests them down at 190'. We were on CCR and had about 1 hour of deco. We dove it with Area9 off their awesome zodiac.
