Family reunion in Bodega Bay this coming weekend. And no, I'm not trying to escape my family by going underwater.

How can I get my hands on maps of dive sites/charts in that area? The rental we have has access to the beach. How can I check to see if this is an appropriate/safe entry area?

may have some info. Look for Watkins -- it's north coast only.

There are a couple of sites here:

Most folks don't dive much South of Fort Ross I don't think. I'd say a good 40 minute drive North of Bodega Bay before you find any real dive sites. Stillwater is a good one and Salt Point State Park has Gerstle Cove. You can also pay to dive at Ocean Cove. Google any of those and you should find some good info.

Be careful and keep an eye on the swell forecast. This weekend may be a big "big" for the North Coast.
