Hi i am planning to go to Cozumel to do some scubadiving, and planning
do test my 5050. I was wondering if someone could give me any advice
on whether to use any filters. I am also planning to buy the Inon 100 WAl, is it
good, and will it work good with my 90dx strobe?

Thank You very Much...

I have the UWL 100 wideangle lens. Love it to bits lol. Makes a big difference to your pictures. I have the Inon strobe too. Don't see why it wont work with your 90DX.

Since you have a strobe you don't need filters. What you do have that is really wonderful on the 5050 is the white balance option, which can serve the same purpose. Be sure to bring a big slate to use it with, you want a reasonable representation of water in between the lens and slate to represent your shooting distance, but still fill most of the frame.

The manual is a bit daunting, but you have a lot of options/tools available. WRT the WAL, get some time with just the available tools on the camera, before adding the WAL. But, that said, a WAL is a must have and will eventually be your primary lens. However you need to get very close to your subject and that is tough when you are just learning the basics of the camera. There is a port extender you may want in the future as well that expands the WAL angle. You don't need a macro lens, if you decide you gotta have one, you're welcome to buy mine, but really, the camera already has the ability for great macro shots.

Good luck, the 5050 is a great dive camera, learn the tools and you should be happy with it for a long time.
