I have chartered Danny's yellow boat on December 4th to do some San Diego blue water shark diving in search of Blues and Makos.

We will meet at Dana in Mission Bay at 6:30am on the 4th (Saturday) and launch at 7am. We will travel 10-20 miles offshore and begin chumming to attract pelagic species of shark. As the sharks begin to show up 2-3 divers at a time will slip into the water and free dive/snorkel (CCR if you dive one) to observe the sharks and other pelagic species in the water. If the sharks remain with us we will then start teams of divers in the water with them. after a fun day of shark diving we will open the beers for the ride back in.

The cost of the trip will be $130 per person and will include the boat/captain, soft drinks, lunch and chum. All you need to bring is equipment (including tank and weights if you want to dive) and beers of course :beerchug:

There are only 4 spots left so if you would like to join us please email me at mike@sdoceanexplorers.com to get your spot reserved.

This is going to be a great trip! :cool3: :shark2:

PS I know this is on a previous threat but I thought I would start a new clear one!

Sounds so narly... I just got certified, but im skuuuuuurd sh***tless to do something like that. The media's warped my mind in regards to sharks.

If you would like you are welcome to come join us and just snorkel very close to the boat. If you do not feel comfortable when you see a shark you can just get out of the water. No better way to get over a fear of sharks than to see them in the water and realize how amazing shark diving is and how at easy you will feel.

Oh, no -- if I went I'd be down for the total experience. Unfortunately, I rented out some home in big bear for my daughter (4yr old) for Dec 2-7th. Do you do this often? Do you have facebook that you usually post status's on for this? If so let me know what your link is and ill add ya.

I also thought California was like 2nd best for white sharks (as opposed to S. Africa). What makes ya think blues and makos are a comin, instead of these or oceanic's if far out ?

Do you go out with bangsticks/powerheads or are they kinda scared of humans?

So amazing, lol

Just look up Ocean Explorers on Facebook.

Whites are either up north e.g. the Farallon Islands or down south e.g. Guadalupe Island.

No protection needed. These are timid pelagic species and as with most sharks are more scared of us than we are of them.
