Decided to check out Blue Springs today. The web site for the park says they fill up quick on the weekends so we got there 30 minutes after they opened. When I told the ranger at the gate, "two divers", she informed me they only allowed 40 divers and 40 had already showed up. Made a 130 mile round trip for nothing. Guess I'll wait to school starts and try it in the middle of the week......maybe.

Unfortunately with most of the parks like that you have to be there before the open to get in line. I have had that problem several times just trying to get into the parks (not for diving just family day out). There seams to be a second wave of divers come into Blue Springs around noon (as the first set is leaving).

I do like your idea of going in the middle of the week after school starts. That will probably be your best bet. But I would still be there before the park opens to help assure your spot in the hole.

I am looking forward to diving that one too.

I heard there was going to be a rather large BOW class there today (12?) :crafty:
Personally I stay away from Blue Springs on Sundays, :doh2:however even on Saturdays it'll sometimes fill up prior to 9 am. :depressed: If you are looking for someone to dive with you there in the middle of the week, I'll be glad to join you :lotsalove: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays work best for me.:D

Blue Spring near Orange City/Daytona Beach (Blue Springs is a different park near High Springs with no diving) is a popular training site. if you get a couple of classes in front of you, you're hosed

yes, it sucks
