I'm the stroke who didn't realize his backup torch was on. (Twist-on torches can be turned on just by water pressure at depth).
Here's some really phenomenal footage of a blue-ringed octopus having a crab for lunch. It was an amazing spectacle. I spotted the tiny octopus in only about 6 or 7 meters' depth and got my buddies' attention; thankfully they had their cameras.
I've seen a lot of octopuses over the years, but seeing a blue-ringed octopus is rare. Seeing a blue-ringed octopus in the process of taking prey? Astoundlingly, astonishingly, amazingly rare! Very, very few divers have ever been as lucky as we were.
