I wonder if they TASTE any different than RED lobster?

*chuckle*

Blue lobsters are the lobster version of an albino, and they actually end up white after they are boiled [or so I've heard].

I found one blue lobster on a dive a couple years ago at Cathedral Rocks in Rockport MA. Probably 2 or 3 lbs; a female with eggs.

Now if only I had a camera at the time!

.TTSkipper I have not been in a few years but I seem to remember Mystic Aquarium having a live one on display. Really a sight to see

I used to go to Mystic Aquarium quite often, although like you it has been quite a few years since I've been (I think I found something to do next weekend). They definetly had a blue lobster on display.

I'll get back to you all next week after I check it out

AMERICAN LOBSTER
(Homarus americanus)

The natural color of the lobster is brownish-green although, very rarely, lobsters can be calico, orange, blue or even red. When the animal is cooked or otherwise exposed to heat, the pigments break down and the animal turns red.
