Hey guys -

I dove the Blue Heron bridge on Saturday. Spectacular weather, the water was beautiful.

Vis hovered between 10 and 15 feet. That is pretty bad :) I used it as an opportunity to practice using my compass.

Lots of starfish about, some grouper, several flounder. The depths are so shallow that you can stay down forever. My bouyancy is getting better. I was practicing hovering of the flounder and one of the larger starfish. Wish I had my camera.

I played hide and seek with a grouper around one of the pilings.

I kept dragging the float ball into the pilings. I'll have to work on that a bit.

I burned the rest of the tank practicing blowing O rings. I got pretty good there towards the end.

There were several OW classes there. I got one of the instructors, Paul to unzip my drysuit. I had forgotten my leash in the locked car! Doh! Thanks Paul!

I managed to enter the water with connecting the battery in my canister light. I always forget to do that. No harm done, the sun was really bright.

I packed up around 3 and headed north. Some really nasty weather! High winds and the rain was amazing. Went to a friends house, went dancing, and finally collapsed into bed.

What a great day!

Did you see those sea urchins that glue seashells all over themselves? Those are cool...wonder how they do that.

I thought they were really neat.

I neglected to wear gloves. The water temp was really nice without them.

So I didn't touch anything.

Didn't want them to pierce my suit either. I am not sure whether a sea urchin can pierce a suit. I wasn't going to find out.

I really liked playing with the flounders. Their one defense mechanism is to look like sand. I think they get flustered when the big bubbly thing isn't fooled.

:)
