We finally made it up "north" to dive the bridge.
Pura Vida gave an orientation and social on Friday night, with a guided dive Saturday.
The Friday night slideshow/presentation was given by Lazaro Ruda(thelivingsea.com)
He also guided the dive and showed the divers many fantastic creatures.(2 frog fish, baby bat fish and 2 seahorses)
My wife had won a 50 dollar gift certificate on Facebook for Pura Vida dive center(good only on labor day) They gave us 2 beautiful BHB dive shirts because we were not able to use it on labor day(great customer service)

Two thumbs up for the dive center. Very friendly and helpful. Great photos and presentation by Laz!!

We stayed at the Seaspray resort which is in Palm Beach Shores. 5 minutes away from BHB and the dive shop. One minute walking to the beach and 4 blocks to the restaurants. Pet friendly. The rates were 99 a night microwave and fridge included. A full bkfst is also included.
The hotel is in a nice safe area and centrally located. The hotel is becoming a Comfort Inn(hopefully the pet policy stays the same)

We went to two restaurants. Johnny Longboats and 2 Drunken Goats. The food was good and the live music was very nice.

The dive conditions were also nice. Viz about 20 feet and no jellyfish.

Great group of divers we met at Pura Vida for Saturdays dive

All in all we will be back as much as posssible.

We were there for both events but did not dive with the group. I see you have a shot of one of the shopping carts, did the group go west? We saw seahorses and a dead moray wound up in fishing line--wondered how that happened? Dove the east side the last 2 days. Saw a Manatee on our Friday dive.

We too, have stayed at the Seaspray. There are coupons, which I am guessing you used; in the coupon books found along the major roads, etc. We liked the included breakfast as well! Next time, for a great burger; try Brass Ring Pub. It is North on US1 about a mile from Blue Heron Blvd on the right--if you get to Northlake Blvd, you went about 100 yards too far! It is that secret Troll bar they speak of! And then are silenced!:D

Thnx for the info. We started with the group but left when we arrived at the East side bridge. Too crowded and the current was a bit much. We then headed west.

Thanks for the post and pics dt. I am really wanting to stop and dive the BHB on the way down to Key Largo next time :D

it definitely should not be missed

Thanks for the trip report and hotel info- Im planning a trip north later in the year and will be taking my furry friends with me too. Did the hotel let you leave the dogs in the room when you went to dive?

Yes no issues leaving the dogs in the room at all. The hotel is becoming a comfort inn so lets hope all policies stay the same
