yaaa vis is gettin crappy up here too, had only 30 ft or so above 40ft depth, and 40 ft below that!! lol

Excellent 10am night dive at Kelvin grove today. 2-3' vis till 30 or 40' then clearer but still murky after that. 5 of us had to visit the VGH chamber afterwards. I'm not ashamed to say I wanted to hold Randys hand on the descent.

30ft vis at Snake Island today. Can see the algae getting thicker though.

Signed on to do a dive at porteau cove next weekend. First dive since being OW certified, and first dive in the home town. Sounds like it could be _interesting_.

I did Porteau on Saturday... even at the deck of the Grant Hall vis was only about 5 feet... below the deck it was a little better but still terrible. If you can, try to go somewhere that you can get a bit more depth.

Anybody have a feeling for how long these blooms typically last?

Well, it's not entirely gone yet but it's a heck of a lot better. Just got back from Whytecliff and we've downgraded from full on algae blizzard to large suspended algae snotballs in the water.

Vis above 40' = 10'
Vis below 40' = 20-25'

Get out there before the weather warms up again!

The Big Brown is back.

Last night doing the Lookout Express vis was around 5'. It cleared up a bit below 60' but it was still like swimming through diarrhoea. Mmmmmmmm.
