Supposedly there is a test out there to see if you're more suceptible to blood clots. I'm not sure what it's called, but sounds like a good idea for all divers. Anyone heard of this?

Hello to everyone!

I have been tested + family history + pulmonary embolism after the birth by cesarien of my baby = I have the factor V leiden

As an ex-scuba diver Instructor, can I still do scuba diving for my personal pleasure safely? Some doctor told me yes without any problem and some told me that I shouldn't!

I only took coumadin (blood clot drug) for 6 months in prevention after my pulmonary embolism in 2002 and I am actually taking eparin because of my present pregnancy. After the birth of my second child, I wild be under eparin for 6 weeks an no more medication after that period. I only need coagulation medication if I am pregnant (and in this case: no diving) or if I need a special surgery.

I am moving in February 2004 to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirats, where the persic gulf is located...with that nice water I do not know if I will resist!!!!

Any comments would be welcome!

Thank you!

Marylene
