After being back on dry land for about 10 days im still having ear problems.I was in the Exuma Cays aboard the Aqua Cat. The diving was great , my first liveaboard. Shark feedings,Dolphins, Rays the whole nine yards . No problems equalizing at all......untill the very last dive, when suddenly I had terrible pain in one ear. It,s still blocked , I saw a doctor at a local med. clinic, he wasn,t much help. I took a decongestant and still nothing HEEEEELP.

See another doctor. You can also talk to DAN about it, and they may be able to refer you to someone who knows what's going on.

I did. ..........I guess I need a new doctor.

A regular doc is not best here. You should see an ENT specialist, preferable one who knows something about diving. Call DAN, they may be able to refer you to one in your area. Don't wait, do it right away. If you have water trapped deep in your inner ear, or even worse, the middle ear, it could lead to a big time and very painful infection.

Not to alarm you, but this COULD be something serious. Just like WebMonkey, I would recommand you take an appointment ASAP with a doctor specialized in diving injuries.

Plungebob I see you are from Montreal too. Helene Daemen-Darveau is a doctor specialized in diving injuries and she's located in Dorval:

Daemen-Darveau, Hélène, Dr
514-631-8782
352, avenue Dorval,
Dorval, QC H9S 3H8

Hope it turns out to be just a good scare!

Yep, it is ENT time.

If I am not cleared up by about an hour after diving, I start loading up on vitamin C and forcing fluids. You are beyond that.

Thanks ,I will call your doctor a.s.a.p great tip........
