I was wondering if anyone can recommend a dive boat that goes to sites around Block Island.

I found Diving Services, Inc. out of Warwick. Anyone have any experience with them?

you can find several shops in Newport as well.

While I have not been out diving with DSI, I do know Tim and Lisa personally. They own a commercial diving business in which Tim actually performs the majority of the diving with Lisa as his tender. Tim has decades of experience in diving, with many years as an Instructor. Recently, he has been able to find some time to get back to scuba and start a charter operation. He also has extensive experience with operating ocean going power vessels. He holds a 100 Master, Near Coastal license.

Regarding shops in the Newport area; Newport Diving Center WAS booking charters through the Seeker . . . but unfortunately, they are no longer operating and as of the beginning of last week they had not found another boat. That may have changed by now so I guess it would not hurt to call them

You could also try East Bay Dive Center in Warren, RI and speak to Dave. I’m sure that he can point you in the right direction if he is not affiliated with a charter operation.

The contact information for those shops is listed within the website in my signature.

Dave Sutton is operating a charter business out of Wakefield, R.I.- 42' trawler named the Explorer (6 pac), I believe it is berthed at Stoney Brook Marina. Check it out.

EXPLORER will run to BI any day you like, we dive any of the favorite spots starting with the Lightburne wreck and then anything else your heart desires. We'll also dive there as a second dive coming in from the Grecian, or after U-Boat dives if the charter desires. We also do spearfishing trips to the island, so let us know what you want.

Dave:

You don't have a website, do you? Pics of the boat perhaps? :D

Working on it. Will be happy to send photo directly for now, ought to have some web stuff up in a few days. Just running nuts with all the tiny projects needed to make her perfect. If the darned website here had the upload feature working we would be all set, but...... no dice.

Come see her on the 3rd and/or 4th of July! I'll toss in a look at the U-Boat along with a look at Explorer!
