Clothespins.....and use them. Someone lost a wetsuit over the side of our boat. Also an insulated coffee mug w/lid.

I recommend those plastic spring clamps for attaching stuff to the cables around the boat edge. A little bulky, but strong. Last year, when I went diving with Blackbeard's, Lowe's had a big tub of them for like $0.50-$1.00 each or something. Worked like a charm.

Other than that, take as little as you can, room's tight. A light fleece jacket and sweats might be a good choice for cooler night weather.

Also plenty of sunscreen, the stronger the better because even though the weather was surprisingly mild when I went, the sun on a cloudless day down there was just brutal. I mean burning.

And lots of Dramamine. Once you get out there the sea is relatively calm, but the infamous crossing from Miami, which they do at night--eight hours pitching and yawing and slamming down into troughs--is both one of the most thrilling and potentially excruciating things you'll ever do on vacation. I don't know if they still hand out complimentary rainsuits, but that was a nice thoughtful gesture on their part.

I think you'll really enjoy your cruise; the Blackbeard's people are incredibly nice and the atmosphere is wonderfully laid back. The "camping at sea" thing really emphasizes the adventure aspect of taking a dive trip. Have a good time down there! If you happen to see them, tell Captain Jay and Anne Marie I say hello. :)

cheers
