the best part about blackbeards is you don't have to switch your gear to new tanks for the entire week! They just fill up the tanks where they're at!
that is pretty standard on any liveaboard

Can't wait! June 3-9!

I can't wait either. Feb 18th. Glad to hear not a lot of downtime. Taking my 15 year old and not looking forward his "being bored' when we're not diving. Sounds like he'll be plenty busy. Also appreciate the packing report. I was planning on "light' but will lighten up a bit more (loss the one pair of long pants and collar shirt). Did the towels get dry? I bought 2 (one for each) of the quick dries for on deck. Was thinking about a real tough for showering.

With the breeze and shunshine my towels were dry within an hour or two hanging on the rail lines. They have a limited number of clothes pins to hang you stuff up on the lines, so a bringing a few your self can be a good idea.

I know this thread is old but just reading thru it , it occured to me that just when I THINK I have the tipping thing understood there is pre-tipping? Is that like a bribe or standard on live aboards? I have never been on one but we would love to do so.

I had received a DEMA certificate good for a free trip on Blackbeard's. As part of the requirement, the tip for the crew was to be prepaid. I thought that was reasonable since I would have still paid the 15%. If your a normal customer, then the tip is not usualy paid until the end of the trip.
