I know, most of you probably groaned when you saw the subject.

I went into a LDS to price out a pair of ATX200s. The person checked the catalog and came back and said the shop could make me a better deal on the Black Pearls.

So, I bought two to set up on double tanks. At less than retail on a DS4/ATX50 setup, I figured why not.

So, what did you pay for them?

"You sold them for WHAT?!?!!!"

They are collector's items. They stopped making them. but they are mechanically identical to (i forget which) 100/200.

Looks like u were in right place at right time.

WOW! nice deal on the Black Pearls (AKA - funky looking ATX200).....indeed they were a limited run regulator and shops that still carry them will ask a premium if you want the 1 or 2 they have left.

Yeah, MLDS was asking a pretty penny for those, but since they are Last Year Model/ Production Run your LDS isn't governed by MSRP. If anyone else is interested Apeks just came out with the tungsten, apparently the Black Pearls were so succesful they reintroduced them as the tungsten.
