We just returned from Black Bird last night. Our trip was wonderful! We flew direct from Charlotte with US Airways and had no problems. We were met at the airport when we arrived by a rep from Black Bird then we were taken to town by the dock to wait for other guest to arrive. We then made a two hour boat ride to the resort. After arriving Kenny gave us a briefing on the resort and how things were done and we begin to settle in quickly. Kenny did tell us about the salt water crocs and sure enough he was correct. After we had dinner that first night we went out to the dock where we were greeted by a croc that was 6-8 feet long and he was hanging out at the shoreline but was still in the water.
The diving began at 0800 every day without fail, with a second dive at 1100 and a third one at 1500. We had one night dive. On our dives we saw Eagle Rays, turtles, nurse shark and of course many fish. One day we got an extra special treat. A pod of dolphins were playing at the bow of the boat and when we stopped they stayed around. Some divers put their snorkle gear on and were able to swim with the dolphin. The dolphin were even leaping into the air when the divers would go below the surface as if to say "I bet you can't do that!" Our dive masters were James and Cardinal Andrews. They were exceptional! Our boat captains Junior and Chris did an exceptional job steering the boat where it needed to be, considering we had some pretty rough seas a couple of days.
Our rooms were kept clean and well stocked. Any need we had Kenny took care of immediately even when we told him no rush.
The food at every meal was great, no one went away hungry.
The grounds were very clean. We did not wear shoes except when we got there and the day we left.
Belize it when I tell you we will return to Black Bird Resort as soon as we can!:D

Sounds great. Thanks for the report. If is's ok to ask what would you say you paid total including air fare, tips, souvenirs, booze, etc.?

Our total for the cabana, meals and diving was 3700.00 for two people. Our airfare was just under 800.00/each. The tips, drinks and a few tee shirts came to 700.00. All well worth the money.
