I just don't log dives
I've got a Henderson neoprene drysuit, the neck seals fine but the wrist leak. I've got hairy arms and the tendon down the center of my wrist pokes out a bit. I've heard about these things called bio-seals. Does anyone have any expierience with them? I've tried pulling my sleeves on my suit up a bit but they work back down. Any advice is helpful, thanks.

A friend of mine uses the bio seals and they work great. They are a bit of a hassel though. She has never been able to get a good wrist seal due to the tendons sticking out just as you have. Try them, just remember they are kind of a hassel.

I haven't heard of using the bio seals on the wrists. I don't know everything. My wife and I use them on the neck seals and they are very comfortable.

thanks guys, any others?

I got the wrist seals. Yes they are an extra hassle. They were working pretty good until I went to retrieve an auger anchoring a dive buoy. As soon as I gripped it and started twisting I felt a little water trickle in. I still get dampness on my left forearm I believe due to dumping air out of the bc. I still need some more dives with them - need to pay more attention when donning the drysuit.

Hey JBB thanks, keep me posted on how you like them.

It is the same concept as the DUI 5 dry glove, each seal contact....

It works great. The seal looks and feels like a medical stuff though.. Some people say it looks like a jelly. I was told that the bio seal can degrade suit seal though, I haven't seen any thing yet.

I used a bioseal for a year to fix a leaky latex neck seal with great results. I washed the latex seal after each use and didnt see any significant bioseal-induced damage over that time.

Bell47 - what type of seal do you have on your wrists: I assume they are latex?

mdb - do you know just how quickly a bioseal will degrade a latex seal - lets say if they are used daily together and the latex is not cleaned after contact?

Cheers,
Rohan.

Rohan: Any oil, including natural body oils will, to some extent, degrade a latex seal. It would take quite some time, even w/o cleaning the bio-seals, for any significant damage to occur. We have been selling the bio-seals for several years and we have had only positive comments. I will check again with Apollo Japan and see if I can get more specific information
