I have just seen that one of the true giants in diving, especially cave diving, Bill Gavin, has passed. I know nothing more than this.

I never met Bill Gavin, but I heard his name in cave, tech and DIR diving circles a million times spoken with awe and reverence in the same vein as Jim Bridger or Kit Carson. I learned to scooter on a Gavin.
