Hello.
I just got a bigblue TL4800PC Slim (or maybe a 4500...I don't know how to differenciate them) for free, and I am trying to repair it.
One led doesn't light up and the three other are dim.

I want to open the light head in order to check the leds and the board.

Does someone knows how to open the head ?
Is there some documentation on this light ?

Thank you

I created a new post in the DIY "Repair your own gear" because I find it to be a better place for my needs, I think.

This post here can be deleted if needed.

I finally managed to disassemble the entire light head into parts.
If anyone is interested into pictures of the inside or sharing my method to open it, feel free to ask, I will do a post about it.

yeah post your method and pictures!

were you able to repair the dead LED?

Yes.
Everything works like a charm now :)

I'll post my pictures in a few moments

Yes please! I'm curious to see how you disassemble the lens - mine's a bit hazy and I want to clean it out.

For the beginning here are three pictures of the led board, logic circuit with battery monitoring and regulation board with the Mosfet (for PWM modulation)

Before repairing the led board, I checked that the PWM regulation was OK
With an ocilloscope, it's a quick check and everything is ok with the 4 different power levels.

To disassemble the lens side, it's quite simple.
You have to make a tool to maintain the light body tightly, while using another tool to unscrew the lens.
For the body, I used a piece/plank of oakwood in which I drilled a hole just a little smaller than the diameter of the body.
You cut the "hole" in two halves and use theses halves to clamp the body firmly into a vice, without warping your light body.
Then you use your hands (difficult) or any tool like a strap style oil filter wrench to unscrew the lens.
The lens is firmly screwed so it requires quite effort to unscrew it.
Then, you'll have access to the piece of glass and the o-ring (if you want the o-ring dimensions, I can retrieve it for you).

Good luck, and feel free to ask if something is not clear.
