Has anyone heard about a big shark being caught in tyhe orange beach/ gulf shores area. My wife said she heard about one being caught but wasn't sure of the details...
 
... also this weekend, 1000lb+ Mako caught in Destin. Kind of a waste to land these sharks, kill them, all for a picture.... I somehow doubt they will be eaten.

I agree. I don't believe they should be killed... especially for sport. By the time the photos, weights & measures, and fisherman interviews with the press (as likely would happen), the meat is spoiled. I posted in the shark forum about the 1000+ lb Mako.

The article link that was posted referred to them as "man eaters". It's too bad that we can't get people's mindsets to change. :shakehead
