My husband and I are going to CCV June 2-9. This is our second year in a row, so we are very excited to get back. We are booked for a beach house, but waitlisted for an overwater room on site. The booking agent said that the whole resort is booked by one group (apart from one single) for the week. I am wary about being on the outside of a big group, but what can you do... Does anyone know what this group is? Anyone know of their LDS running a CCV trip that week? It is not a major deal, but I am just curious what we are dealing with.

ETA: Apply heel of hand directly to forehead -- I just found Dee's message about the Scubaboard trip for this week. I just hope you guys can cancel a cabana or bungalow from your booking so we can take it! Dee, do you hand deliver Dee rags on site? I was going to buy a second one before my trip.

Couple to CCV in June?

My group and I are headed to CCV June 2-9. This is our 9th year in a row, so we are very excited to get back. We are booked for the TSR, but waitlisted for a hammock on the dive dock. The booking agent said the whole resort is booked by our group apart from these two non-groupers who are in a beach house. I am wary of outsiders, but what can you do- it's them who will have to adjust to our sun your buns nude scuba week. Not skinny dipping, but chunky dunkin'. It's not a major deal, but I am just curious what we are dealing with.

Edited to add: There is no real difference between the CCV experience at a Bungalow/Cabana versus a Beach House. Quit fretting over the inconsequential. You will understand more when you get there. This is a consideration that second timers never agonize over- you may develop a preference- but neither is all that much different than the other.

See you there.

Posting now under my real identity - I was incognito as WrightOn before.

We are second timers! And anyway, I am not fretting -- just lazy! Every minute spent walking/biking to the dock from a beach house is one less minute in a hammock. I think you will agree, these are not inconsequential things we are talking about...I guess I will manage.

Oh... you'll fit right in ;)

(I was refering to second timers after the firts experience of a Beach House)...... but you do have a point about less bottom time. Hmmm.

We have the same issue from May 5th to the 12th. I dont mind the beach house but I hope the large group will be naked scuba diving like Roatan Man's group :D

Go here http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/mb/ccv this is where we hang out when we are not there....Dee is usually on every day....in case you haven't gotten your DEE Rag answer....but she usually does bring a few but they go fast so put your order in now:D

only worry I have about the beach house is taking the underwater vid+housing back and forth. The beach houses have a lot of upside as well though.

BTW, naked diving? No WAY! Not a prude or uncomfortable if you all want to run about like it's New Guinea, but I don't want any of my important body parts to be mistaken for bait!

Haven't you already seen the video with the moray mistaking the thumb for a vienna sausage? The front yard is full of people fed morays. Oh, the humanity!

CCV provides bicycles to ride too and from the beach houses...and they have a large metal basket on the front so it should hold your housing...;)
