Hello fellow big divers and instructors that teach big guys. I have a question I am hours away from placing my order and just wanted to hear any last things that may not have been covered in any other threads that I have read. Is there anything you would have done differently because of being tall/wide/ or having a big gut?

I am going to get a One-piece harness W/crotch strap, HOG SS BP, HOG 32# wing. Set up will be for a single tank. first step in my future Tech training/gear

I am 6'2" and built like a lineman I am rather wide but I do have a big gut sorry "Pronounced belly". See any problems in the gear set up/use.

BP/Ws are perfect for us larger divers.

One thing, though. Before you pull the trigger on your purchase, talk to Tobin at Deep Sea Supply about his large and tall sizes of backplates.

Also, he has bolt on weight plates that take a lot of weight off of your belt if you're doing cold water diving.

Already did thanks. He was a great help and I will buy my full doubles set up from him once I I get the training and used to the gear. Plus he recomended a large which is less that an inch different then the one I am getting.
I dive light wetsuit to tee-shirt here in Florida and dont like the cold so Weight is not a problem. I am just getting this setup I mentioned at a hair above dealer cost so that is the ONLY reason I am not going through DSS right now. Plus the money I save will go toward training.

No problems at all. Hog harness is the perfect solution in this respect.

Make sure that sufficient webbing is initially supplied on the harness. If not, just buy some replacement webbing at the length of your choice. It's not expensive.
