Well I've seen the largest animal I ever expect to see in the water. Sat 3-20 my buddy and I did a beach dive to the Kelp Beds off the Strand beach (Near Dana Point Headlands). during the approx 500 yard surface swim out to the kelp beds a seal was swimming circles around us and wondering what these two creatures splashing and flopping on the surface were.

When we reached the kelp beds and prepared to decend a grey whale surfaced for a breath about 25 feet away. Unfortunately he had no desire to stick around for us to see him underwater and he continued north to Alaska. Would have loved to see him underwater, but just seeing him on the surface was impressive.

That sure beats seeing whales from a boat! Awesome Tom!

BTW, had fun with you, SDSean, Pasley, Wrinkles, Mo2vation, & Arnaud... Looking forward to the next time!

I had two Blue whales come up to my boat near San Clemente Island once. They stayed there for more than two hours, occasionally turning sidways to look up at me. One was close to 100 feet long with the smaller being about 80 feet. I wanted to get in the water SO BAD, but my wife talked me out of it. Missed my big chance.
