i nearly crapped myself when I saw a 10+m specimen of lionsmane at tuwannek in 2007.... no one died though, and no one needed to go to the hospital either.

Dry suit+dry gloves+hood rulezzz. And together with cold water lips protectors there is less than one square inch of bare skin on face.
