I have the UK Q40 and while plenty bright for it's size (surprisingly so) I would not call it a primary light (I use it as back up/emerg. light .. carried in pocket)
The UK SL4 would be better, and I have not used the Tec 3
(Edit: looks too small/dim for a primary .. see below)
Princeton Tec 3 Atitude ... http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/princetontec_attitude2gen.htm
... Might want to compare the light output with this single LED, 4 AA light ... UK Q40 eLED Plus http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/uk_q40p.htm

(I use a UK C8 as my primary light, good cost/performance ratio ( http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/uk_c8.htm )

Any light that fit in your BC pocket is a backup light to me..
I have the Mini Q40 LED light and it has very nice light for the size, but the C8 LED would be my primary..

I have to agree with both previous posts. I have the Q40 eLED plus and the older version of the Attitude (non led version) and I wouldn't use either one of these lights as a primary. I actually use the Attitude topside during night dives and carry the Q40 as my back up.

The UK C8 or the Shockwave LED from princeton tec would be better choices IMHO.

Princeton Tec 3 LED Attitude
UK Q-40
UK SL-4

Any feedback?

I have a Princeton Tec 3 LED Attitude - it's a good mask light or emergency backup but not a primary. I use the UK Q-40 eLED Plus as a backup - it wouldn't make a good primary. The SL-4 is probably the brightest, it might make an acceptable primary - at least I've seen people use them as such - but most people on this board would probably use it as a backup only.

Take a look at the Ikelite PCa. They are cheap (about $23) and very powerful for the size, though you only get about 2 hours of burn time from 6 AA batteries. But once you upgrade you could designate it to backup duty.

Where are you diving? What type of diving are you doing and how will you use the light? Light needs vary greatly. Looking under ledges on a 40' drift dive in Florida and looking inside a wreck at 120' in Lake Huron require two very different primary lights.
