Best wreck dives in Central America

Hi - I’m planning a trip to Central America next year. I’ll probably spend 6-8 weeks travelling from Mexico to Panama checking out various dive spots along the way.

I like wrecks. Particularly those with an interesting story / history. Are there any must-dive wrecks off the CA coast (east or west) or do you need to venture out to the Caribbean islands?

Dives would be external only, no penetration.
